Chris and Ellie’s Wedding | 413 on Wacouta | St. Paul

Chris and Ellie were married during a beautiful ceremony at 413 on Wacouta Event Center in Lowertown St. Paul on Oct. 8, 2016. Their nebula-themed wedding was spectacularly detailed and beautiful. Many of those details were an homage to Star Wars, including the AT-AT bride and groom cake topper, Star Wars gift bags for each attending family, and an R2-D2 card holder. The wedding’s energy was magnified by the exciting arrival of a Storm Trooper, Kylo Ren and an Imperial Royal Guard from the  501st Central Garrison who arrived to pose with the couple for portraits after their ceremony and escort them in for their grand march and first dance.

The bride’s attention to detail and consideration of her guests was impressive.  But what made this day absolutely remarkable to me was Chris and Ellie’s absolute love for each other. I have never witnessed so many wedding guests (and photographers) tear up at a ceremony as I did at this one. The vows were beautifully raw, intimate and full of genuine love and compassion. Ellie’s father recently passed away, so there was a front-row chair during the ceremony holding an image of him with Ellie when she was a young girl dressed up as a bride. Chris’ father walked Ellie down the aisle and danced the father-daughter dance with her. Over and over, I was overcome by the love and emotion of the day. I am so honored to have had the opportunity to capture their truly unique wedding.

Thank you Ellie and Chris!! Wishing you love and happiness for years to come!

Prior to arriving at 413 on Wacouta Event Center, I drove across the river to capture a skyline image of downtown St. Paul.

Ellie and Chris adorned the table in the reception area of the ceremony room with canvas wrap prints of some of their favorite engagement session photos, as well as a schedule, tissue, and thanks to Chris’ parents for hosting. They also had an R2-D2 container to collect cards on the gift table. This wedding had so many great details.

The groom’s grandmother was the ceremony’s flower girl. She did a spectacular job throwing petals on the onlookers.
