Engagement Client Questions

What does it mean to have personal print rights?

Poppy Seed Photography provides a CD/DVD with high resolution .jpg files and a personal print right release to the photographs. This means you are free to post them to social media, email them, or have them printed from any lab of your choosing.

If you want to order through my professional labs, you may do so through your online proof gallery.

I maintain the copyright of the images which means your images may appear on my website, blog, or other business related materials.

What if a photography permit or fee is required for a location we want to go to?

You are responsible for obtaining any permits and covering any fees required for the shoot.

Do you have any references?

Yes, again. Check out my Praise page, as well as WeddingWire.com to view reviews by past couples.

Copyrights

What does “copyright protected” mean?, Why can’t I scan my pictures from a professional?, and Why won’t you just give me the images on a CD?

In 1976 the federal government passed a law making it illegal to copy and scan materials protected by copyright, including professional photography. Our studio invests heavily in training, education and equipment to provide you with the highest quality photography possible. Poppy Seed Photography has reserved the copyright on each portrait we create. It is illegal to scan, reproduce, copy, or screen capture any of our proofs, portraits, and online viewing proofs. Please do not steal from us. Not only is it illegal, it’s just not nice. Any reproduction of our images without written copyright release is considered a federal offense. If you want prints or digital copies of your images they are available for purchase.
